Another longtime pirate IPTV operator just learned that ignoring a federal lawsuit doesn’t make it disappear, it makes it more expensive.

The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) announced that a Pennsylvania federal court entered a $9 million default judgment against Brandon Weibley, a digital piracy operator linked to illegal streaming dating back to at least 2017.

Weibley ran a string of illegal IPTV services, including Beast Mode Live, GreenWing Media, Viking Media, BTV, Von Wik, Shrugs, and Zing.

What the Court Decided

Judge Jennifer Wilson, sitting in the Middle District of Pennsylvania, awarded $9 million in statutory damages for willful copyright infringement. The order also granted a permanent injunction requiring Weibley to hand his piracy-related domains over to ACE.

According to ACE, his services gave subscribers unauthorized access to more than 9,000 channels, including international programming and live sports. This is the same operation Hollywood studios first sued back in March, and Weibley never showed up to fight it.

A separate California operator behind Outer Limits IPTV was ordered to pay $15 million in a near-identical default judgment from anti-piracy authorities.
